Published as a nav item, not emailed after the deposit clears. Very few kennels in this category do this — it is also the single fastest way to answer the objection every buyer has.
The terms below are a working draft built from what your current site says plus what the strongest published contracts in this category cover. It is not legal advice and it must be reviewed by a Florida attorney before it goes live. Where the current site contradicted itself — the deposit is listed as $1,000 in three places and $2,500 on Contact, and the refund policy is written both ways — the draft picks one and states it plainly.
1. The health guarantee
A written 1-year genetic health guarantee against life-threatening congenital and hereditary defects, running from the date of pickup or delivery.
- Buyer has the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of taking possession. This is the one deadline that matters.
- If a covered defect is diagnosed and documented by two licensed veterinarians, buyer chooses a replacement puppy of equivalent value from the next available litter, or a refund of the purchase price.
- Replacement does not require the buyer to return the dog. TODO — confirm; several kennels demand return and it reads badly.
Not covered: parasites, coccidia and giardia, kennel cough, hypoglycemia, umbilical hernias, and any condition arising from injury, neglect, over-exercise during growth, obesity, or failure to follow the feeding and vaccination schedule provided. TODO — confirm each exclusion.
2. Deposit
- $1,000 secures a pick position, assigned in the order received.
- Non-refundable, but fully transferable to any future XCB litter within 18 months.
- If we do not produce a puppy of the reserved sex, buyer elects a full refund or rolls to the next litter with position intact.
- Balance is due in full before transport or pickup.
3. Registration & breeding rights
Puppies are placed on ABKC limited registration unless full breeding rights are purchased in writing before the deposit is placed. Full rights change the paperwork we file, so it cannot be added after the fact.
4. Return clause
If at any point in the dog's life you cannot keep it, it comes back to us. Not a shelter, not a resale, not a rehoming group. No fee, no questions. This clause is non-negotiable and it is the one we care most about.
